Gujarat industries hiring in 2026 — where the jobs actually are
An honest map of Gujarat's hiring landscape in 2026 — which industries are growing, which are flat, and which to bet your career on.
Gujarat's economy is more diversified than any other Indian state, which makes it a great place to job-hunt but a confusing one to plan a career. Here's the 2026 picture, sector by sector.
Pharma + healthcare is the standout. With 4 new Apollo and MedPlus expansions announced across Saurashtra in 2026, plus the Bhavnagar biotech SEZ coming online in late 2026, pharmacist and medical-rep roles are up 22% YoY. Average salary: ₹2.4–3.6 LPA for freshers, ₹5–8 LPA for 3-year experienced.
Logistics + port operations. The Bhavnagar port expansion and the Ghogha ferry terminal upgrade are creating ~3,500 new direct jobs over 18 months. Warehouse helpers, dispatch associates, and forklift operators are the entry points. Average: ₹1.2–2.4 LPA. Above-average if you have a heavy-license.
Diamond + gems processing. Mahuva and Surat together process 90% of the world's diamonds. 2026 hiring is up after two slow years. Sorters, polishers, QC assistants: ₹1.5–3 LPA. The catch is the work is highly seasonal — peak is October–March.
Renewable energy. Gujarat has 32% of India's solar capacity and Kutch is adding 4 GW of new capacity in 2026. Electricians, panel installers, and site supervisors are in high demand: ₹2.4–4.8 LPA. ITI + on-the-job training is the entry path.
IT + SaaS. The post-pandemic boom is cooling but not reversing. Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar continue to hire React + Node engineers: ₹4.5–9 LPA for freshers, ₹12–22 LPA for 3-year experienced. Surat is emerging as a design + content SaaS hub.
Retail + FMCG. The organised retail wave is still expanding — Reliance Smart, D-Mart, and Zudio are opening 50+ stores across Gujarat in 2026. Store managers, sales associates, and inventory leads: ₹1.5–3.6 LPA.
Hospitality + tourism. Palitana, Somnath, Dwarka, and the Statue of Unity corridor drove a 14% YoY increase in hospitality hires in 2025. That trend continues in 2026. Hotel staff, tour guides, restaurant servers: ₹1.4–2.6 LPA.
What's flat or declining: textile (Surat), chemical industrial workers (Vatva), traditional print media. If you're entering the workforce in 2026, bet on pharma, logistics, and renewable energy.
